Other popular trends in 2021 are set to include more back-lit medicine cupboards and mirrors, deep soaking tubs to help relaxation in case these stressful times continue, and warm, vibrant shades. Also set to be popular are durable paints which stay hygienic for longer, again given the circumstances.
At the same time, we may well see more people seeking the comfort of underfloor heating, as well as the warm tones of tiles which look like wood.
The rise and rise of quartz countertops
A hard and durable natural material, quartz resists stains and scratching and is generally low-maintenance. That’s partly because it has few seams, and sleek profiles. So it’s hardly surprising that in one industry trends report, 74% of designers chose this stone as the top countertop material for bathrooms. Equally, as a non-porous substance, quartz doesn’t harbour nasty bacteria. (And clearly that’s even more important in an environment that’s likely to be damp.)
Lighter and warmer colours are set to become more popular for quartz worktops, as well. So if you didn’t think quartz belonged in the bathroom, think again!
