Granite brings elegance and more than a hint of style to bathrooms, for worktops, floors, basins, vanity units and more. And it’s no wonder it’s a popular stone. After all, granite is easy to maintain and highly durable. Typically, you’ll find it in shades of black, white, pink and grey.
However, you’re certainly not limited to standard hues. Here, we look at some of the rainbow of colour choices for bathrooms in a little more detail.
White and beige
These shades create a blank canvas, a backdrop against which you can highlight certain fixtures or features. Or maybe you want the granite to become the centrepiece?
Black
Choose black if you’re keen to make a bold, vibrant statement. What’s more, if you have white bathroom items, granite in this hue offers a stand-out contrast.
Brown
This colour has made something of a comeback to the interior design scene, and it encompasses quite a palate, from beige to chocolate and off-white cream, so there’s always plenty of choice.
Other colours
If you’re after something a little different to the above, think beyond black, white and brown. There are various choices for those who fancy something a little more unusual, but which is just as serviceable for a bathroom.
Ubatuba granite, for example, quarried from Brazil, gives a luxurious look to bathrooms, with specks of gold, black, white and light green. There are also dark green lustrous speckles. Use as an accent wall, statement countertop or vanity unit.
Another option could be Blue Bahia granite, although this may not be the cheapest choice. Expect stunning grey, white and royal blue patterning for a truly exquisite look.
Finally, Colonial Gold gives an opulent feel to any bathroom. It goes well with wood, copper and brass finishes. Think a creamy grey background with brown and grey flecks and gold-appearance veining.
