In 2025 so far, it seems we’ve been celebrating natural materials, bold features and adding character and personality to our kitchens. And there also seems to be an end to all-white or grey spaces.
Now read on to learn more about some recent popular trends, whether you’re going for a quick refresh of your kitchen, or a full remodel.
Curved countertop edges
This is a big trend for 2025. And it’s a marked movement away from the sharp lines and right angles that have previously been fashionable. Plus you can opt for waterfall designs, oval islands or gently rounded corners.
Make a statement with natural stone
Bold designs are coming back as we aim for personality-packed interiors. That has included a return of natural stone, especially on features such as backsplashes and kitchen islands. And for, say, marble backsplashes, the trend is for striking veining to create a strong focal point. Contrast it with other colours and materials such as muted neutrals. And make it the star of the show!
Earthy tones
Deep, rich colours including burgundy, olive green and navy blue are set to become more popular. But for a more luxurious feel, consider combining with gold or brass-coloured accents.
Textured surfaces
Textured tiles, complete with fluted detailing and similar textured elements are big news – what’s more they introduce interest and depth to any kitchen space.
Hidden storage
Additionally, clever storage solutions are also highly sought-after this year. That’s because they’re really helpful in terms of keeping kitchens organised, tidy and free from clutter. Ideas include an appliance garage – i.e. a specialist cabinet or compartment in which to store small kitchen appliances like toasters which you use all the time. And they can even be custom-designed to suit specific needs.
Bespoke kitchen islands
At the same time, more of us are opting for tailored kitchen islands, since these are better designed to suit particular needs and space restrictions.
